From humble beginnings

Brits Rebecca Aird and Peter Thwaites began hand printing their first collection in 2002 on a handmade table in a farmyard barn. Nine years later and their Rapture and Wright fabrics and wallpapers are sold around the world.

Silk and Cotton Co. recently received their shipment of the hand-printed Mandaly, Berbeck and Agnes ranges, and this batch, like the hundreds before it, was made with as much care as the designers’ early work.

Rapture and Wright embrace pattern and colour. The designers’ main aim is to produce products that are 100% British – something we can be quick to admire in a patriotic country like South Africa.

Hand printing their fabrics and wallpapers to order allows Rapture and Wright to be able to react quickly to the demands of their clients. Short runs and bespoke colourways are part of the service, even from a million miles away. And as Rebecca and Peter say “the quality and feel of the design is at the heart of the product”.

The Rapture and Wright range was shown off at Silk and Cotton Co’s new Kramerville store launch in conjunction with Pezula.
