Last night the Freeworld Design Centre in Cape Town held the first of their Sundowner Sessions and Food & Film evenings. Their latest design “pods” by some of the country’s top creatives were also revealed.
Miranda Engelbrecht and Gerda Genis, Tina Bester, Jacques Erasmus, and Casamento with Luke Dale-Roberts have all created new pods using food as their central theme. Chocolate, cakes, breads and raw sea salt are all stars of the show.
At the launch of Freeworld’s Food & Film events, dinner at Hemelhuijs was themed around the movie Chocolat, which was screened later in the evening. The food and film were a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone lucky enough to get a seat.
The Food & Film events will take place again on 9,10, 16, 23, 24 and 30 November 2011. Tickets are available from www.webticket.co.za.
