Honest, handmade and unique.
What effect do you think the title 2014 World Design Capital will have on Cape Town and South Africa as a whole?
I think it will help in refining the city by focusing on transport/green living/smart designed small spaces and design education.
I hope that public art and design will also get improved to help educate the youth about the importance of design in the community.
The World Design Capital will bring out heaps of talent and it will encourage South African’s to be bold and proud!
Who is your style icon?
No favourite icon, I learn from various people, although Wim Botha’s work is great.
If you could have invented anything, what would it be?
A delete button I can press to eradicate crime and corruption.
What is your favourite building in South Africa?
Cape Town City Hall.
What is the one must-see spot in South Africa you recommend to tourists?
Doing the Rovos Rial through the Great Karoo.
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Amsterdam/Holland.
What do you love most in your life?
My family.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Having a day for myself to sit down and design without any deadlines or disturbances.
Where would you like to retire?
Can’t think about that right now, too busy being young.
